Clothes Bank extends its “New Vision” collaboration with I.T and Hong Kong Garments College [10/12/2012]
Clothes Bank is extending its “New Vision” campaign collaboration with I.T. and Hong Kong Garments College. I.T. will provide 6 internship positions for one month and coupons valued in total $8000 and Hong Kong Garments College will provide 48-hour free design classes for the winners of Clothes Bank Garments Design Competition 2013. “New Vision” is Clothes Bank campaign, aimed at encouraging young designers who are passionate about design to chase their dreams.
“The internship positions we provide are within the design team, which means the ones who got the positions will actually work with our designers. I believe it is a good chance for the designers to know more about what it is like in the workplace. If the trainees are creative and hard-working enough, they may get a job offer from us. We hope what we do can really encourage young designers realize their dream,” says William Leung, CEO of I.T.
Hong Kong Garments College also supports the campaign by providing free design classes for the winners in the competition. “We make every effort to help our students to find their potential and equip them with as many skills as possible,” said Dr. Kasha Chui, Dean of Department of Design, Hong Kong Garments College.
Clothes Bank’s “New Vision” campaign mainly consists of a design competition, which will be held on from January to April, 2012. People who won the first and the second prizes will get internship chancec in I.T. And all the winners will get coupons from I.T. and they can attend design classes for free in Hong Kong Garments College.
This campaign is aiming at encouraging young designers to chase their dream. "We believe every little effort we make would contribute to make a big difference," said Chan Wai Yue, CEO of Clothes Bank.

cLOTHES BANK'S FIRST CHARITY CONCERT [18/05/2011]
Clothes Bank’ first charity concert was successfully held on May.18. 2011. On the stage of Tsuen Wan Town Hall, several singers and bands, including Chen Yijun, Wang Leekai, Autumn Day and Morning Moment gave marvelous performances, wearing the clothes designed by the winners in the previous the 1st Clothes’ Bank Design Competition. All the income from tickets will be used to buy new uniforms, which will be sent to schools in rural area of Mainland China.
“I hope there will be more activities like this. In this way, we can really do something to help people in need. I hope there will be more people participating to these activities,” said Wang Leekai.
The 1st Clothes’ Bank Design Competition was held 10 days ago, all candidates showed their great enthusiasm and creativity in designing. Finally, 5 pieces of work stood out. The designers are Chui Hin, Yan Zhenji, Wong Fongyi and Leung Weili. All of them are university students who are passionate about designing. Following the charity concert, Clothes’ Bank plans to hold more activities, including regular workshops, etc.
Through one year’s effort, Clothes Bank now has donated to over 10 primary and secondary schools in Mainland China, helping over 1000 students. Meanwhile, more than 250 Hong Kong students gained free cloth material from Clothes Bank.
