Why clothes bank ?
We use received clothes wisely. As uniforms, they should be in the same pattern, so we classify clothes received by color and pattern, wash them, package them and send them to schools in poverty-stricken areas as school uniforms. In addition, we select worn-out clothes and donate them to secondary schools in Hong Kong for home economics class material. Finally, we provide old clothes for people who love designing but can’t afford the materials as practice use and help them keep on working at what they love.
We are environmental. We collect second-hand clothes. Instead of throwing them away or putting them into your wardrobe without wearing, we encourage you to donate them to us to help people who need them. So, these clothes reused, which is good for environment.
We are dedicated. Clothes Bank does whatever it takes to make full use of old clothes. We hold exhibitions to help those poor students realize their designing dreams. We provide clothing-design workshops for those who love clothing-design. We work with Student Unions and different students’ organizations of universities in Hong Kong, large garment company and people just like you—anyone willing to help us advocate for making use of old clothes in a meaningful way.
